Pinwheel Box II

This is a new version of the Pinwheel Box. Due to the complexity of the design, only five were made.

It unlocks just like the original Pinwheel Box, but the lid slides free in a different way.

The pinwheel concept was one of my first creations dating back to when I was 12 years old. At the time I had only cardboard to prototype my ideas with and the force of friction of the cardboard was too strong to allow this idea to be successfully modeled. Somehow I always had a "feeling" it could be done, and this later led me to pursue woodworking in order to prototype this idea when I was in college. The rest is history.
